The Ways We Care
Powdersville Medical Park is your family’s home for lifelong care. This means our physicians are trained to treat patients of all ages, from babies and toddlers to Grandma and Grandpa. Our approach allows us to build a relationship with you—giving us time to better understand what treatments are right for you and your family.
We also have a Board Certified Osteopath, Kelly M. Purcell, DO. While the training and applications are very similar to traditional physicians, Osteopathic physicians offer a slight difference in philosophy that is appealing to some individuals and families. Osteopaths tend to be more holistic in their diagnosis and treatment. Their emphasis on primary care makes them excellent family health physicians and diagnosticians.
Appointments and Emergencies
For your convenience, appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8am to noon and from 1:30 to 4:30pm. To schedule an appointment, please call us at 864.295.2308.
Because we respect your time, we sincerely try to stay on schedule; however, occasionally we experience unforeseen problems and emergencies. Whenever possible, we will keep you informed of delays and will ask your preference of either waiting or rescheduling your appointment.
We also make every effort to see “work-ins,” or patients who need to be seen but who do not have an appointment. We can do this by fitting in these patients between or after scheduled appointments, which may require a longer wait.
Also, if we are seeing you for the first time, we will do a complete physical, depending on the reason for your visit. This will require more time and will be handled differently than a regular appointment.
To allow us to be fair to all patients, we ask that you give us at least a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment.
Many urgent problems can be seen in the office during regular office hours. However, should an emergency occur after hours or during the weekend, our answering service will take your information and immediately contact the physician or nurse practitioner on call. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, we urge you to call Emergency Medical Services at 9-1-1 or go directly to the closest Emergency Room.
Prescription medications will not be called in after regular business hours.
Fees and Insurance
We accept most insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid. If you have a question about our fees or about your bill, call 864.295.2308.
Payment is due when services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept cash, check, MasterCard, and Visa. We will help you process your insurance claims for reimbursement by providing an itemized statement with all necessary information needed by your insurance carrier. In some cases, we accept assignment of benefits and will file your insurance for you. It is your responsibility to fully understand your coverage benefits and to verify that we are listed as approved providers prior to scheduling an appointment with us.
Please make your prescription and renewal requests during office hours when your chart is available. We are not able to call them in after regular business hours. If you call in your request, please have available the name of your medication, how you are taking it, and the name and telephone number of your pharmacy. For your safety, we cannot approve prescription renewals if you have not seen the doctor in our office within one year or have not seen the doctor for any recommended follow-up care.
