The specialized physicians at Easley General Surgery are trained to provide surgical care of the whole patient. As general surgeons, they have completed a residency of at least five years, or specialty training in the field of surgery.

Our general surgeons provide comprehensive general surgery examinations, consultation, diagnosis, and treatment planning. They have specialized knowledge and skill relating to the diagnosis, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of surgical problems in areas such as:

  • Alimentary tract – esophagus, stomach, small bowel, large bowel
  • Abdomen and its contents – diaphragm, biliary tract, liver, pancreas, spleen
  • Breast, skin, and soft tissue – benign and malignant disease including stereotactic sentinel node biopsy
  • Surgical oncology – including coordinated management of the cancer patient
  • Complete care of critically ill patients in a team of hospitalists, pulmatologists, and cardiologists as needed.

Appointments and Emergencies

Appointments

For your convenience, appointments are available Monday through Friday from 9am until noon and from 2 until 4:30pm. Appointments are made by physician referral only. To schedule an appointment, call 864.855.1644.

Because we respect your time, we sincerely try to stay on schedule; however, occasionally we experience unforeseen problems and emergencies. Whenever possible, we will keep you informed of any delays and will ask your preference of either waiting or rescheduling your appointment. If we are seeing you for the first time, the visit may require more time than a regular appointment.

To be fair to all patients, we ask that you give us at least a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment.

Emergencies

Many urgent problems can be seen in the office during regular office hours. However, should your emergency occur after hours or during the weekend, our answering service will take your information and immediately contact the physician on call. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, we urge you to call Emergency Medical Services at 9-1-1 or go directly to the closest Emergency Room.

Prescription medications will not be called in after regular business hours.

Fees and Insurance

We accept most insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid. If you have a question about our fees or about your bill, call 864.855.2421.

Payment is due when services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept case, check, MasterCard, and Visa. We accept assignment of benefits and will file your insurance for you. It is your responsibility to fully understand your coverage benefits and to verify that we are listed as approved providers prior to scheduling an appointment with us.

Prescriptions

Please make your prescription and renewal requests during office hours when your chart is available. We are not able to call them in after regular business hours. If you call in your request, please have available the name of your medication, how you are taking it, and the name and telephone number of your pharmacy. For your safety, we cannot approve prescription renewals if you have not seen the doctor in our office within a one-year period or have not seen the doctor for any recommended follow-up care.

A general surgeon is a specialist trained to provide surgical care of the whole patient. General surgeons evaluate and administer comprehensive treatment of patients with injuries and illnesses.

General surgeons are dedicated to your total care and to coordinating your treatment, including consulting with other specialists when needed.

All general surgeons must complete a residency or specialty training in the field of surgery. This training period is an accredited surgery residency program lasting at least five years.
