What is a Family Practice Physician?
Family Practice physicians are trained to treat the whole person, both physically and emotionally. They are trained to provide comprehensive medical care to your entire family, from newborns to adults. Your family physician gets to know you as a person and factors your medical history into your personalized care. Under the care of your Family Practice physician, prevention becomes a big part of your healthcare.

When additional, focused medical care is needed, your family physician refers you to a specialist. Your family physician stays involved in your care and works with the specialist to find the best treatment for your care.

What is an Internist?
Internists have a personal and long-term commitment to patients, broad knowledge and skill in diagnosis and treatment, all while showing integrity, respect, compassion, sensitivity, and listening. Internists treat illnesses and offer primary care to adults and adolescents. They also serve as coordinators of patient care when other medical specialists, such as surgeons, are involved.
